About the Role

Speech Language Pathologists (SLP’s) are one of the most critical members of a child’s therapy team. They work one-on-one with patients to deliver the individualized, team focused treatment in locations that are natural to the patient, virtually or in the office setting.  Our SLP’s are top notch and have the ability to inspire, motivate and communicate efficiently with the patients entire care team, including family members, educators, or any other instrumental persons in the patient’s life. Our goal is for every employee to feel as part of our family and for every patient and their families to feel the same. This position is for natural environment based therapy (home, daycare, virtual) through various Florida Early Steps programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation of children from ages 0-3 (if necessary)
  • Meeting with parents for progress sessions
  • Provide one-on-one treatment in a coaching based model
  • Communicate with other practitioners in patients care team
  • Assist caregivers with development and implementation of a home-based program to facilitate follow through
  • Properly document each session
  • Be a positive member of the center community 
  • Be punctual and responsible
Early Intervention

Early intervention (EI) services are provided by therapists and specialists in child development who work as a team to assist families and their children with various delays in development and early childhood struggles. The early intervention model is based on being a coach rather than a one-on-one therapist. As an EI provider, you are instrumental in providing the guidance and support to those families you treat and become a driving force in their child’s success.

Qualifications

  • Must have a commitment and enthusiasm to helping children and families 
  • Be reliable, efficient, and have a strong work ethic 
  • Masters Degree
  • Currently hold a Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Florida
  • Have a minimum of one year experience working as an SLP with children who are between ages 0-4
  • Experience working with children with special needs, e.g., autism or developmental delays is strongly preferred
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with children, families and colleagues 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a therapy team member 
  • Ability to work well independently and seek assistance when needed Possess strong attention to detail for data collection
  • Organized, flexible, able to follow instructive guidance and willing to take constructive feedback
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Able to maintain client confidentiality 
  • Record of success in previous positions as evidenced by excellent references 
  • Comfortable using technology

Compensation and Benefits

  • $40-50/hr per diem for treatment, depending on credential and experience 
  • Part-time position (10-20 hours/week) and mostly during the day.
  • Flexibility for those with children and family obligations
